NHS orthodontic treatment for children
The good news is that most children will qualify for NHS orthodontic treatment. NHS eligibility is assessed on the severity of each case and the health benefits which you might achieve by having your teeth straightened. In effect, this means that tooth straightening for purely cosmetic reasons will be done on a private basis.
We have an excellent relationship with our local dentists. After your child’s dentist has referred them to us, we’ll contact you to make the arrangements for your child to be seen. Children and young people under the age of 18 are offered an NHS assessment free of charge. At this appointment we’ll decide on a provisional plan of what treatment would be needed and talk about how we can deliver it.
If, for any reason, you can’t or don’t want to go down the route of NHS treatment for your child, we’ll be happy to discuss private orthodontic treatment with you. Our Silver Service treatment options can make this both easy and affordable, while still giving your child a beautiful smile.
NHS appointments and costs
Our NHS appointments are available here at our Rotherham practice between 8.30am and 4.00pm. Please contact The Orthodontic Studio online or call 01709 382047 to arrange an appointment.
While the NHS will fund treatment for eligible patients, any lost, broken or damaged appliances may incur a small charge. Please do take good care of your braces so you won’t have to meet this additional cost!
Private orthodontics for children
Private orthodontics offers an increased choice of options with an immediate start to treatment. In addition, it allows you to choose the braces you want and out of school appointments.
Our silver service option produces a beautiful smile with reliable results. Providing value treatment at modest prices, you can give your child the opportunity to have a brace regardless of NHS eligibility.
